At APEC 2025 KOREA in Gyeongju, GroundK ran a large-scale complimentary shuttle service powered by its own mobility platform, RIDEUS. We managed 300-plus coaches across 25 routes from a single dashboard, linking airports, KTX stations, hotels, and venues — and applied a real-time boarding-management system for the first time.
About APEC 2025 KOREA
Held in Gyeongju in October 2025, APEC 2025 KOREA was a vast undertaking: the Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM) was preceded by a chain of high-level gatherings, including the Concluding Senior Officials' Meeting (CSOM), the joint Ministerial Meeting (AMM), and the ABAC and CEO Summit sessions. Thousands of delegates and officials arrived and moved through the city at the same time.
In that environment, GroundK went beyond simple vehicle deployment. We designed a large-scale complimentary shuttle service so that every participant could move easily, whenever and wherever they needed. To track and steer the flow of large crowds in real time, we deployed our own mobility platform, RIDEUS, building a transport network that connected airports, KTX stations, key accommodations, and event venues with smart control tuned for a major international event.
Unifying 300 Coaches and 25 Routes with RIDEUS
RIDEUS is the second platform GroundK has introduced. It lets users book a range of transport products — shuttle coaches, tour buses, and more — and adds real-time vehicle tracking, making day-to-day operations far more efficient.
At APEC 2025 KOREA, RIDEUS let us manage more than 300 coaches and 25 intricate routes from a single dashboard. The event also marked a new step: a boarding-management system that captured passenger counts instantly. Through the app, field staff monitored waiting numbers at each stop in real time and flexibly redeployed vehicles to points where congestion was building, giving participants a wait-free shuttle experience.

A Transport Hub Built for the Press Corps
For the media teams carrying the story to the world, accuracy and mobility mattered above all. GroundK ran dedicated shuttle routes from Gimhae International Airport and KTX Gyeongju Station, circulating between HICO (Gyeongju Hwabaek International Convention Center), the IMC (International Media Center), and the main hotels in the Bomun district.
We positioned minibuses suited to carrying broadcast and camera equipment exactly where they were needed, and RIDEUS's real-time arrival information helped reporters reach time-critical assignments without delay.
Hydrogen Buses and Mobile Offices on the Move
In step with APEC's commitment to sustainable growth, we brought eco-friendly mobility into the shuttle operation. Hydrogen-electric buses, with low noise and vibration, made for a more comfortable ride, while mobile-office vehicles let passengers handle urgent work on the move.
More than a way to get from A to B, this turned travel time itself into productive working time — a glimpse of the premium shuttle model that GroundK is shaping for international events.

What Data-Driven Mega-event Transport Leaves Behind
The shuttle operation at this APEC summit was an important milestone — proof of GroundK's data-driven operating capability on the global stage. Managing hundreds of coaches and dozens of routes from one dashboard, reading boarding numbers as they happened, and moving vehicles to where demand was forming all came together in a single coordinated operation. We intend to build on this experience to bring more advanced smart-shuttle solutions to the global mega-events ahead.
GroundK will keep moving beyond efficiency alone, aiming to raise the standard of each event and serve as a transport partner that inspires every participant. In our next piece, we will revisit the same APEC 2025 KOREA from the perspective of motorcade and administrative vehicle operations.
