APEC 2025 KOREA: Intelligent Shuttle Operations via RIDEUS Platform

‘APEC 2025 KOREA,’ held in Gyeongju in October 2025, was a massive project featuring a series of high-level meetings including the Concluding Senior Officials’ Meeting (CSOM), APEC Ministerial Meeting (AMM), ABAC, and the CEO Summit, leading up to the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM). In a complex environment where thousands of delegates and officials from various countries entered and moved simultaneously, GroundK designed a large-scale complimentary shuttle service to ensure seamless mobility for all participants.

Moving beyond simple vehicle deployment, we implemented our proprietary mobility platform, ‘RIDEUS,’ to track and control the movement of vast numbers of people in real-time. This enabled us to establish a perfect transportation network connecting airports, KTX stations, major accommodations, and event venues, providing a smart control solution optimized for mega-scale international events.

RIDEUS is GroundK’s specialized platform that allows for the easy booking of various transportation products such as shuttle and tour buses. It supports overall mobility operations more efficiently with a control function that tracks the real-time location of vehicles.

At APEC 2025 KOREA, we integrated and managed more than 300 large buses and 25 complex routes through a single dashboard via the RIDEUS system. Notably, a new ‘Boarding Management System’ was applied to immediately grasp the boarding status. Operations staff monitored waiting crowds at each hub in real-time through the app and flexibly deployed vehicles to sections where congestion was expected, providing participants with a ‘zero-wait shuttle experience.’

For media professionals delivering news to the world, ‘accuracy’ and ‘mobility’ were of the utmost importance. GroundK operated specialized shuttle routes circulating between Gimhae International Airport, Gyeongju KTX Station, and key locations such as HICO (Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center), IMC (International Media Center), and major hotels in the Bomun District.

By deploying minibuses optimized for transporting broadcast equipment and utilizing RIDEUS’s real-time arrival information system, we provided full-scale transport support to ensure the press could move to the scene without delay.

In line with APEC’s values of sustainable growth, we introduced eco-friendly mobility into our shuttle operations. By deploying Hydrogen Fuel Cell Buses, which offer low noise and vibration, we provided a pleasant travel environment. Furthermore, we operated Mobile Office Vehicles that allowed delegates to handle urgent business while on the move. This showcased GroundK’s unique premium shuttle service model, which transforms travel time into valuable working time.

Shuttle operations at the 2025 APEC Summit were a significant milestone, proving GroundK’s data-driven operational capabilities on the global stage. Building on this success, we plan to showcase even more advanced ‘Smart Shuttle Solutions’ at various global mega-events in the future.
