GroundK Co., Ltd. (CEO Dong-won Jang) announced on the 16th that it has launched a real-time information system to support the more efficient and safe use of public shuttles operated by local governments.
The newly introduced system features real-time location and accurate operation data for public shuttles without the need for separate payments or login procedures. While free public shuttles are currently operating in various regions, including Seoul, users have faced ongoing inconvenience due to the difficulty of predicting actual arrival or waiting times, as most information has been limited to static schedules.
The lack of real-time location data has caused significant inconvenience, particularly for the mobility-impaired, such as the elderly and the disabled. To address this, some local governments have provided drivers' personal phone numbers as a workaround, which has revealed limitations in terms of driver safety and personal information protection.
GroundK's information system was developed to solve these issues. It allows users to accurately check the real-time location of shuttles on a map at any time. The system is designed for easy access (No-Login), enabling those unfamiliar with digital devices to use it effortlessly without complex registration. This allows anyone to intuitively check the operating status of public shuttles.
CEO Dong-won Jang stated, “We are currently in active discussions with several local governments regarding the adoption of the system.” He added, “We aim to become a trusted mobility partner for local governments, solving on-site challenges in public transportation operations through our technology.”
