From September 13 to 14, 2025, the greatest legends in football history gathered at the Seoul World Cup Stadium for the '2025 Icon Match' hosted by Nexon. Titled "Return of the Spear, Start of the Counterattack," this mega-sports event featured iconic names like Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba, and Rio Ferdinand, thrilling fans across the globe.

Unlike standard sports logistics which focus on team units, this project presented a unique challenge: managing "Individual VIPs" arriving with families and guests. GroundK demonstrated the gold standard of MICE mobility by deploying a 24/7 specialized task force and over 40 dedicated vehicles, including high-performance models provided by BMW, to provide a bespoke experience worthy of these world-class icons.

Bespoke Individualized Transportation System

Since the stars of the Icon Match were retired legends often traveling with family, a flexible and personalized mobility service was essential. GroundK pivoted from traditional team bus operations to a premium protocol system tailored to individual needs. We deployed a diverse fleet ranging from high-performance BMW sedans to luxury Solati vans, all on 24/7 standby to ensure the legends could manage their personal schedules with maximum efficiency and comfort.

Strategic “On-Time” Precision for Secure Airport Transfers

With fans and media flooding the airport, ensuring athlete privacy and preventing safety incidents was our top priority. GroundK executed a precise "On-Time" staging strategy to manage the crowds. Our on-site managers monitored arrival statuses in real-time, holding vehicles at a 10-minute distance and deploying them precisely as the VIPs exited the gate. This eliminated wait times and effectively blocked any potential safety risks caused by heavy congestion.

Integrated Real-Time Control via VMS and Security Coordination

Security along transit routes is a critical component of international events. To address this, we implemented our proprietary VMS (Vehicle Management System) across the entire fleet. By sharing real-time GPS data with security teams and organizers, we ensured immediate VIP care upon arrival. Even amidst Seoul’s heavy weekend traffic, we resolved hotel access congestion through pre-event route simulations and flexible on-site management, such as securing roadside waiting spaces with hotel cooperation.
