GroundK’s Contribution to the Success of APEC 2025 SOM1

GroundK, a global mobility solutions provider led by CEO Dongwon Jang, was praised for delivering high-quality transportation services at the First Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM1) for APEC 2025.

GroundK is a specialized company with its own mobility solution and extensive expertise in MICE services. Since supporting the 2019 ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit in Busan, the company has successfully provided customized transportation and protocol services—integrated with IT systems—for a number of major summits and international events, including the Korea-Africa Summit and the 56th ADB Annual Meeting.

SOM1, held in Gyeongju, was especially significant as the first high-level meeting ahead of the main APEC 2025 summit. With representatives from all 21 member economies observing closely, this event drew international attention. GroundK introduced its proprietary Vehicle Management Service (VMS) at this event, enabling real-time tracking of all vehicles. This system greatly enhanced the convenience of participants arriving via air, KTX rail, and buses.

Thanks to the advanced technology, GroundK was able to provide seamless service throughout the event—from airport shuttle operations to venue transfers, dinner transportation, and departure services. GroundK plans to continue investing in technology based on the experience and know-how gained from this event. Their R&D goals go beyond simple geographic information provision, aiming to improve operational efficiency, communication systems, and shuttle service quality across MICE events.
