GroundK Announces Global Growth Strategy

Securing Major Events Including Korea-Africa Summit and World Table Tennis Championships

In June, 500 sedans and vans were neatly parked at KINTEX in Goyang. These vehicles were all prepared for transporting VIPs and participants of the 'Korea-Africa Summit', freshly washed and equipped with national flags and number plates, creating an impressive sight. This grand spectacle raises a question: who is responsible for securing and operating vehicles for such large-scale events?

"Your B2B Mobility Partner"

The answer might surprise everyone. It's not a large corporation or government agency, but a small-medium enterprise, GroundK. Established in 2016, GroundK specializes in providing transportation and protocol services for various major government events. They have demonstrated their capabilities at events like the 'Korea-Africa Summit', 'World Table Tennis Championships', and 'Bank of Korea International Conference'.

Beyond government events, GroundK showcases its capabilities at numerous other events. They provided perfect service for projects like the 'Audi Summer Tour 2024' featuring Bayern Munich and luxury brand 'Bulgari's' Seoul event. Building on their experience and trust gained from operating VIP protocol services for securities firms and card companies, combined with IT technological capabilities for service management, GroundK has established itself as an essential partner for transportation and protocol services.

Announces Growth Vision 'Innovating Mobility for ASIA'

New Vision: Innovating Mobility for ASIA

On August 30th, GroundK announced 'Innovating Mobility for Asia' and its core strategies, expressing its ambition to expand overseas. This announcement, revealing GroundK's entrepreneurial spirit to achieve scale-up overseas, consists of two main strategic components.

First is the expansion of service areas. They aim to extend their reach beyond Korea to the global market to capture both rapidly growing overseas business travel and inbound demand post-pandemic. Particularly, they plan to solidify their ground travel network based in Asia and create strong synergies through partnerships with European and North American collaborators.

The most noticeable change for consumers is the launch of their global service website (groundk.com). This website, introducing overseas services, will be enhanced to allow customers to directly book overseas vehicle services in the future. From now on, customers can make one-stop reservations for all transportation means, including vehicles and flights, from their homes in Korea to overseas destinations without booking vehicles separately in each country.

Pursuing Substantial Growth Through Technological Capabilities and Service Competency

Targeting Asia's 'Digital Transformation' Demand

They also announced active marketing in the 'digital transformation' industry. GroundK has developed and operates 'T-RiseUp', a B2B solution for operating transportation services including transportation companies. Contrary to initial expectations, demand is emerging from facilities that provide vehicles to tourists, such as resorts and casinos.

While similar solutions exist, they only offered limited functions in English. However, 'T-RiseUp' allows users to access complex information about drivers, vehicles, and services in their preferred language through a single channel, generating positive responses in Asian regions where English usage is less common. With their own technical organization, they can conduct SI (System Integration) projects if clients desire. Ultimately, their strategy is to create stable high profits through solution supply with unique competitiveness in Asia and the Middle East.

"Also Challenging for Regional Co-prosperity"

Meanwhile, they also showed high interest in the domestic market. Their goal of continuously discovering future growth engines is demonstrated by the recently launched 'Tourism Taxi Solution' and 'City Tour/Shuttle Solution' targeting local governments. At this announcement, CEO Dong-won Jang stated, "To grow from a startup to a solid mid-sized company, we need to create pivot strategies and realize scale-up," adding, "While pursuing global expansion, we will also grow together with local governments through digital transformation of tourism transportation facing challenges."

CEO Jang continued with anticipation for the end of this year. Revealing that GroundK will participate in a major sports awards ceremony in October, he expressed his wish to "continue our commitment to growth with substance into next year."
